Although we’re getting closer to spring with each passing day, I know I will need to escape the gloomy winter many times before then.

If you’re like me, consider these round-trip flights to the Dominican Republic for travel through May, starting at $283.

Deal basics

Airlines: JetBlue and Delta Air Lines.
Routes: From New York, Austin, Boston, Washington, Denver and Charlotte to Santiago de los Caballeros.
How to book: Browse
Google Flights and book directly with the airline.
Travel dates: March-May.
Book by: One to two days.
Blackout dates: N/A.

This deal was originally sent out by Going, formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights. Sign up for Going to get deals up to 90% off via its Premium membership, which users can try for free for 14 days and then $49 per year. You can also upgrade to the Elite tier for $199 per year and receive all the Premium deals plus premium economy, business-class and first-class alerts.

Sample flights

The following round-trip flights to Cibao International Airport (STI) were priced as listed at the time of publication. We cannot guarantee the below round-trip flights will be available when you book:

  • John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), starting at $283.
  • Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), starting at $303.
  • Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), starting at $311.
  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), starting at $347.
  • Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), starting at $358.
  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), starting at $359.
  • Denver International Airport (DEN), starting at $363.

The JetBlue flights included in this deal are for Blue Basic fares, which only allow passengers to bring one personal item that can fit under the seat in front of them. Any full-size carry-on bag brought to the gate will incur a fee and need to be checked ($65 for your first or second checked bag). To add a checked bag, factor in $30 each way.

Having said that, you might be able to book this deal in Delta’s basic economy, which includes a full-size carry-on. For example, you can purchase this same route on Delta for the same price.
